COLLEGE BASKETBALL'S PURPLE REIGN

This is the story of college basketball’s most improbable national champion, the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.  In 1947, the Crusaders practiced in a barn, had a part-time head coach, and still managed to win the big dance.  Holy Cross returned to glory in 1954 winning the National InvitationTournament, then known as the “King of Tourneys.”
